Children Matter Forum International
COMMITMENT
CHILDREN MATTER Forum International works to renew global commitment to uphold the Rights of the Child to be protected from the use of drugs and other addictive substances, its illicit production and trafficking as specified in the Article 33 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
CHILDREN MATTER Forum International works to enhance global cooperation and coordination to protect children and youth, to live and thrive in substance abuse free environments and strengthen youth agency in drug prevention education interventions.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
Unite and recommit to a youth-centric identity in countering the increasing problems of health, social safety, trafficking and crime resulting from the abuse of narcotic drugs and other addictive substance
Build a youth lead movement sensitive to today’s cultural realities to sustain and keep the spirit of the health focused drug policy debate.
Adapt the concept of intergenerational accompaniment to enhance focused re-engagement with youth for effectively addressing the world drug and other addictive substances narrative.
Why Children Matter Forum International is built on the model of intergenerational accompaniment ?
The CHILDREN MATTER Forum will function as a network for intergenerational transfer of knowledge and values to reaffirm global commitment and determination towards drug demand reduction and prevent the abuse of drug and other addictive substances and counter their illicit trafficking by working to build a youth network by 2030.
CHILDREN MATTER Forum International is steered by an International Advisory Board, and country civil society representatives who will dedicate time, energy, and resources to train and develop youth voices from across the globe to impact policy discussions on drugs and other addictive substances with focus on human rights, youth, children, vulnerable members of society and communities and uphold the health focused drug policy debate.
Long term goal to enhance generational re-engagement:

5-year engagement plan to create broader awareness of the benefits and importance of intergenerational accompaniment to transfer domain knowledge, offering youth clear pathways to discern their need to unify voices to represent drug and other addictive substances policy.

The Secretariat is the administrative and programmatic body of the CHILDREN MATTER Forum International, responsible for providing executive leadership and overseeing its day-to-day operations. It manages the Children Matter Forum International’s operational, managerial, and financial functions in alignment with its mission, policies, and strategic priorities.
Youth Representatives
The International Youth Board is a global body of emerging prevention leaders and youth consultants who contribute substantively to the strategic direction, advocacy priorities, and programmatic design of the CHILDREN MATTER Forum International. It ensures meaningful, structured, and sustained youth participation in shaping rights-based responses to drug-related and addictive substance challenges worldwide.
Civil Society Representatives
Country Representatives are designated individuals who serve as national focal points within the internal committee structure of the CHILDREN MATTER Forum International. They support networking, knowledge exchange, and advocacy efforts at the country level, advancing the CHILDREN MATTER Forum International’s mission through local partnerships, policy engagement, and community outreach.
